Do not book a Dubai beach hotel for an early Abu Dhabi meeting merely because both appear under “UAE”. E11 links the two cities, yet congestion, road works, checkpoints at private sites and venue security can consume a buffer. A split stay may be more comfortable than repeated same-day returns. Conversely, moving hotels for a single dinner creates unnecessary packing and check-in risk.

Airports, private flights and road handovers
AUH serves Abu Dhabi; DXB is Dubai's principal international airport; DWC sits in Dubai South and is a separate airfield. A ticket or handling message must use the IATA code, terminal or FBO, operating carrier, arrival time and tail number where relevant. “Dubai airport” is not enough, particularly when a connection or chauffeur has been arranged.
The UAE Government identifies Al Bateen Executive Airport as a dedicated business-aviation facility in Abu Dhabi. Access, operating permissions, slots, parking, handling, customs and aircraft suitability still belong to the operator and authorities. A private jet charter request should include passenger names as shown on travel documents, baggage dimensions, pets, catering, onward address and flexibility around departure time.
For a commercial arrival, specify whether the guest expects a kerb pickup, paid meet-and-assist or an airside service. Those products are different and airport authorisation cannot be inferred from concierge status. Drivers need the live flight, terminal, passenger contact, vehicle plate or meeting sign protocol and a delay rule. Child seats, accessible vehicles and high-volume luggage should be ordered, not assumed.
Within Dubai, the official public-transport network includes metro and tram. These can be efficient for an independent traveller, while a chauffeur is usually easier for several appointments, evening clothing or equipment. Inter-emirate buses operate to schedules; they are not a substitute for a protected transfer after a late private event. No road duration on this page is a guarantee.
When should a UAE itinerary run?
October through April normally supports the broadest mix of terraces, beaches, desert outings and walking. It is also the period with the greatest pressure around school holidays, trade fairs and major sport. For ordinary winter dates, start the accommodation and transport shortlist four to eight weeks ahead. Festive stays, connected rooms, large villas or several matching cars often deserve three to six months.
From May into September, heat changes the shape of the day. Cultural visits, shopping and dining can be placed indoors, while outdoor activities move to early morning or evening and remain weather-dependent. Staff exposure, vehicle cooling, water, walking distance and shaded handovers matter. A lower seasonal room rate does not make an outdoor programme safe or pleasant by itself.

Ramadan and public holidays can alter opening patterns, traffic and dining arrangements, with dates moving annually. Stays, cars, yachts and tables
Hotels work well for short visits, round-the-clock reception and immediate facilities. Residences or villas may fit families, security teams and longer stays, but the contract must name licensed capacity, visitors, housekeeping, staff rooms, pool safety, events, pets, utilities and cancellation. For cars, decide between chauffeur-driven transport and self-drive. A coordinated chauffeur schedule needs duty hours, rest, parking, fuel, tolls, waiting and an overtime rule. Yacht requests need the marina, guest count, duration, route, catering, water activities and return deadline. Dubai coastline cruising differs from an Abu Dhabi island programme, and wind or visibility can change a route. Restaurants should be selected around the day's geography, not prestige alone. Share allergies, dietary rules, children, seating preference, celebration policy and acceptable time range.
