REQUEST VIP compares luxury hotel VIP benefits by their written value, eligibility and effect on the total stay. Breakfast, hotel credit, upgrade, early arrival, late departure and amenities can be useful, but none should be promised until the named property, booking channel, rate and dates confirm the terms.

Key Facts

  • A benefit can vary by hotel, brand, rate, room category, length of stay, guest membership and booking channel.
  • “Subject to availability” is a request or conditional benefit, not a confirmed room category or departure time.
  • Hotel credit can have limits on venue, dates, taxes, gratuities, room service, spa products or unused value.

Hotel upgrades and credits explained

An upgrade at time of booking means the higher category should appear on the confirmation. An upgrade at arrival depends on the hotel's allocation that day. A category upgrade may move one room level, while a suite upgrade is not implied. If space is essential, reserve the required room rather than treating an arrival benefit as inventory.

Hotel credit needs a currency, amount, eligible outlets, stay or nightly basis, minimum stay and treatment of taxes or service. Ask whether it applies to spa, dining, room service or another named service and whether advance reservations are required. Unused credit is normally not cash unless the terms explicitly say otherwise.

Breakfast and stay timing

Breakfast may be continental, buffet or full menu; offered in a restaurant or by room service; capped per person; or limited to registered guests. Resort villas and residences can have different delivery or dining rules from hotel rooms. The confirmation should show the actual inclusion and any supplement.

Early check-in and late check-out are valuable only when the time is approved. “Priority” or “subject to availability” may still require a day room or the previous or following night. REQUEST VIP aligns flight and transfer times through the luxury hotel concierge without assuming the room will be ready.

Direct, loyalty and partner rates

Public direct rates, hotel loyalty programmes, credit-card programmes, adviser channels and concierge offers can use different prices and eligibility. They may not combine. Some membership benefits require the guest to book direct, attach a number, pay with a qualifying card or be present. A third-party reservation can also have different profile recognition.

REQUEST VIP asks the hotel or authorised channel to document which benefits apply and whether loyalty credit, points or status recognition remain. . The cheapest headline rate may not have the best refundable total, and the richest benefit package may cost more.

Compare the real net value

Start with room category, total price, currency, taxes, resort or service fees, deposit and cancellation. Add only benefits the guest is likely to use and that are confirmed. Do not value a possible upgrade as if it were guaranteed, or count a credit against charges that the terms exclude.

For example, a flexible rate with breakfast and a usable credit may outperform a lower non-refundable rate for a short stay, but not always. REQUEST VIP provides the components and assumptions; the client chooses based on risk and actual priorities. No invented “saving” should appear without a transparent calculation.

Property-specific verification

Brand-level language is not enough. A city hotel, island resort and residence can participate differently. Confirm room type, rate name or code, dates, guest count, benefit wording, fulfilment point and who resolves a missing benefit. Save the written response with the reservation.

For a residence, use the private hotel residences guide because hotel benefits may not apply. If the preferred hotel is unavailable, the sold-out hotel process checks inventory first; an unconfirmed benefit should not delay a suitable room.

On-arrival review and missing benefits

Before arrival, send the hotel the confirmation and key requests, then check that recorded benefits remain visible. At check-in, confirm breakfast location, credit posting, upgrade category, departure time and amenity without pressuring staff for items not in the terms.

If a documented benefit is missing, keep receipts and contact the named booking channel and hotel while the stay is active. REQUEST VIP can coordinate the record under , but the hotel or programme controls fulfilment and any remedy.

How It Works

  1. Send hotel, dates, guests, room needs, memberships, payment constraints and benefits that matter.
  2. REQUEST VIP compares eligible rates, written benefits, total cost and cancellation through approved channels.
  3. Review guaranteed items separately from conditional requests and select the best risk-adjusted option.
  4. Confirm the booking, recheck benefits before arrival and retain the final folio for any resolution.

FAQ

Is a hotel upgrade guaranteed?

Only when the higher category is written on the confirmation; otherwise it remains conditional.

Can loyalty and partner benefits be combined?

Sometimes, but only when the hotel and programmes confirm compatibility for the rate.

Does hotel credit cover every charge?

No. Eligible outlets, taxes, gratuities, products and unused value depend on the terms.

Is late check-out a fixed time?

Only when a specific time is confirmed; “subject to availability” is not fixed.

Are direct-booking benefits always better?

Not always. Compare total, cancellation, points, benefits and the guest's likely usage.

Can REQUEST VIP guarantee benefit fulfilment?

No. REQUEST VIP documents and escalates, while the hotel or programme controls fulfilment.
