Key Facts
- Official 80th-edition dates: Tuesday 11 through Saturday 22 May 2027.
- Festival guidance treats Cannes primarily as a professional event and requires accreditation for restricted Festival areas.
- A gala-screening ticket does not itself guarantee participation in a red-carpet ceremony.
Premieres and screening access
The Official Selection and screening schedule determine what can actually be requested. For 2027, film titles, times and reservation procedures remain to be announced. Do not build a named-premiere offer from rumours or a previous edition. A responsible enquiry states the guest’s professional accreditation status, preferred dates, target films once published and acceptable alternatives.
The Festival’s published framework distinguishes accreditation from individual screening reservations. Badge category can influence booking windows and admission conditions; a badge is not a guaranteed seat at every screening. Any proposed ticket should identify the screening, date, time, venue, named holder and whether a valid accreditation is also required.
Red carpet and premiere protocol
Cannes explicitly states that a ticket to a gala screening guarantees access to that screening, not to a red-carpet ceremony. The Festival alone controls access to the Grand Théâtre Lumière and the route used by ticket holders. Security, dress rules, arrival lanes and operational changes must be followed on the day.
The red-carpet premieres guide explains this distinction in detail. REQUEST VIP will not represent a screening ticket, accreditation or generic “VIP package” as a guaranteed climb of the steps unless the official issuing terms expressly confirm that experience.
Ceremonies and formal admissions
Opening and closing ceremonies are specific programmed events, not general festival passes. Guests interested in the opening ceremony or closing ceremony should submit a separate priority for each. The date follows the announced festival window, but time, film, admission release and guest procedures must await the 2027 programme.
Named tickets, accreditation and identification may all be relevant. Arrive at the time stated by the Festival, not at a concierge-estimated time. Late access and seating remain at the organiser’s discretion.
Gala dinners and charitable events
Cannes week includes studio dinners, sponsor programmes, charity benefits and privately hosted occasions. They are not automatically part of the Festival de Cannes. The amfAR Gala Cannes page covers a separately organised charitable gala, while Chopard events require their own host verification and terms.
For any gala dinner, the written proposal should name the organiser, beneficiary where relevant, table or seat format, guest names, dress code, transport, taxes or donations and cancellation. A previous venue or celebrity list is not proof of the next edition.
After-parties and private guest lists
Parties may be hosted by films, distributors, talent agencies, media companies, brands, charities or independent producers. A premiere confirmation does not include an after-party unless the host says so. The Cannes after-parties guide explains how to verify host, date, venue disclosure, named-list conditions and arrival window. For the wider event-family structure, return to the film festival hub.
Keep an alternative evening plan because approvals can arrive late or be declined. A confirmed restaurant table and vehicle are useful only as logistics; they do not create event access.
Hotels during the festival
Choose accommodation according to the guest’s daily geography, not simply reputation. Croisette properties reduce some road travel but operate inside a busy security environment; Cannes, Le Cannet, Juan-les-Pins, Antibes and Cap d’Antibes create different transfer patterns. Room type, occupancy, taxes, minimum stay, deposits and cancellation should be explicit.
The main programme is announced after many desirable rooms have tightened. Use terms that balance early reservation with the risk of a later schedule change. Garment handling, early arrival, breakfast timing and a dependable vehicle pickup can matter as much as the view.
Transfers and Festival-zone timing
The official Festival area centres on the Palais, Riviera and nearby controlled zones. Vehicle access can change with security, red-carpet operations and Croisette restrictions. A driver should receive the exact entrance and target arrival, but guests may still finish on foot. Build time for accreditation collection, identity checks, bag screening and door closure.
Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is the principal international gateway for many visitors. Flight arrival, baggage and road variability require a conservative buffer before the first essential event. Avoid same-day international arrival for an opening-night priority.

FAQ
When is the 2027 Cannes Film Festival?
The Festival de Cannes has announced its 80th edition for Tuesday 11 through Saturday 22 May 2027.
Can the public buy a pass for the full Festival?
Cannes is primarily for film professionals, with accreditation and specific public programmes under official criteria. There is no universal consumer pass for every screening.
Does a gala screening ticket include the red carpet?
No automatic inclusion applies. Official Cannes rules distinguish access to the screening from participation in the red-carpet ceremony.
Are premiere and party invitations linked?
Usually not. Studios, films, brands and other hosts control separate guest lists, and each confirmation must identify exactly what it covers.
When will the 2027 programme be available?
It has not been published as of 1 September 2026. Film titles, screening times and procedures should remain unconfirmed until official release.
Is REQUEST VIP an official Festival de Cannes partner?
No. REQUEST VIP is an independent concierge and cannot change official accreditation, ticket, red-carpet, seating or security decisions.
