REQUEST VIP coordinates Venice Film Festival access requests with hotels, water transport, dining and a realistic Lido schedule. La Biennale di Venezia confirms the 83rd festival for 2–12 September 2026. Tickets, accreditations, ceremony admission, red-carpet movement and private events remain subject to official terms, identity checks, operational changes and current availability.

Key Facts

  • The 83rd Venice International Film Festival runs 2–12 September 2026 on Lido di Venezia.
  • Palazzo del Cinema is the main venue; Sala Grande hosts major screenings and award ceremonies.
  • La Biennale sells public screening tickets, but a ticket or subscription does not guarantee red-carpet passage.

Premieres and official screening routes

La Biennale publishes separate schedules for the public and accreditation holders. A valid public ticket can give admission to the named screening under its conditions, while an industry or press accreditation follows its own booking rules. Neither is a universal seat for the full festival. Check the film, date, time, venue, holder category and entry deadline for every item.

The 2026 programme uses multiple venues, including Sala Grande and other rooms in Palazzo del Cinema, Palazzo del Casinò, Sala Darsena and PalaBiennale. A premiere at Sala Grande requires a different movement plan from a public screening elsewhere on the Lido. REQUEST VIP should not replace an official screening title with generic “VIP premiere” wording.

Red carpet and operational control

La Biennale’s official information states that possession of a ticket, subscription or reservation for a Sala Grande screening does not guarantee access to the red carpet. Passage may change according to operational requirements for the day and time. A screening confirmation must therefore be presented as screening admission unless the organiser separately confirms the carpet procedure.

The Venice red-carpet premieres page explains ticket categories, arrival and transport implications. REQUEST VIP cannot allocate a carpet route, photographer position or interaction with a film delegation.

Ceremonies at Sala Grande

The official schedule places the opening ceremony on 2 September and the awards and closing ceremony on 12 September 2026. Sala Grande at Palazzo del Cinema is the historic room used for principal screenings and awards ceremonies. These are specific events with controlled access, not benefits attached to every pass.

The opening ceremony guide covers the first night. The closing ceremony page should be requested separately, because tickets, accreditation, time and guest procedures can differ.

Gala dinners and private hospitality

Venice week includes film dinners, brand occasions, charitable events, hotel receptions and independently produced hospitality. They do not form one La Biennale package. The gala dinners guide distinguishes an official or film-hosted occasion from an ordinary restaurant reservation. An amfAR Venezia event must also be verified through its own organiser and edition terms.

Every proposal should identify host, date, venue, guest names, table or standing format, meals and beverages, dress, admission, price, taxes and cancellation. A past host or location is not evidence of a current event.

After-parties and separate guest lists

Parties can belong to films, distributors, talent agencies, media, brands, foundations or venues. A screening ticket or accreditation does not automatically add a name to these lists. The Venice after-parties page explains how to separate guest-list access, table hospitality and an ordinary nightlife booking. For the wider event-family structure, return to the film festival hub.

Addresses may be in central Venice, on the Lido or another island, making transport part of the admission plan. Keep a confirmed dinner or bar alternative when a private list stays pending. Logistics cannot create access.

Hotels in Venice or on the Lido

A Lido hotel reduces transfers to the cinema venues and can simplify styling changes. A central Venice hotel provides a different city experience but introduces daily water travel. Compare the actual boat route, late-night return, luggage handling, minimum stay and cancellation rather than choosing only by hotel category.

Early arrival is especially important on 2 September. A room that is not available before styling can disrupt the opening plan. Guests staying off the Lido should identify the nearest usable water landing and the final walk to the hotel.

Transfers by vaporetto or private water taxi

La Biennale’s official travel information lists vaporetto connections to Lido S. Maria Elisabetta and Lido Casinò, with airport access also possible by boat to the Lido. A private water taxi can provide direct routing to a suitable landing, but tide, weather, traffic, luggage and landing permissions matter.

The Venice destination guide helps connect airport, station, hotel and Lido. Each run sheet should show boat operator, pickup point, landing, walking sector, ticket or accreditation holder, security buffer and a fallback public route. Confirm the final late-night boat before entering a party.
