REQUEST VIP coordinates motor yacht charter enquiries for day use, coastal weeks and powered multi-stop cruising. Send destination, dates, guests, cabin needs, intended distance and comfort priorities; the concierge will seek named commercially operated yachts with documented propulsion, capacity, layout and terms. Range, speed, fuel, amenities and availability are verified for the exact vessel, never assumed from its category.

Key Facts

  • “Motor yacht” covers planing, semi-displacement, displacement and other hull or propulsion arrangements.
  • Published range needs a stated speed, load and test basis before it informs an itinerary.
  • Certified day guests, overnight guests and dockside visitors can have different limits.
  • The captain controls safe speed, route, fuel reserve and operation of equipment.

Propulsion, range and general fit

A motor yacht suits a brief that values powered movement, climate-controlled interiors or a route less dependent on wind than a sailing plan. It does not make travel time fixed. Hull form, engines, drive system, loading, sea state, current, speed, maintenance and fuel reserve all affect consumption and reach. Ask for the maker's data, current operating guidance and the captain's passage calculation for the proposed trip.

Do not compare maximum speed as if it were normal cruise. A fast figure can be recorded under defined test conditions and may be irrelevant to comfort, efficiency or range. Request economical and cruising-speed assumptions, tank capacity, generator demand, delivery fuel and the estimate method. The captain still chooses safe speed under COLREGs and local instructions.

The main yacht charter service explains the wider booking process. Compare a sport yacht when acceleration and day movement dominate, or a flybridge yacht when an elevated outdoor deck is central.

Destinations

Choose a region that fits the confirmed yacht, not the other way around. Marina dimensions, draught, fuel supply, weather exposure, traffic, protected areas and customs can remove a vessel from an otherwise attractive coast. A compact plan between nearby ports uses range differently from an open-water crossing or an itinerary requiring a positioning leg.

For a French Riviera yacht charter, name the actual delivery marina and likely tender points. Other destinations need their own coastal and port checks. A restaurant, beach club or event booking never confirms a berth or safe landing. .

Sizes

Length is only one decision field. Add beam, draught, air draught, displacement, deck count, engine-room position, stabilisation, tender storage and access between levels. Two motor yachts of similar length can allocate volume very differently between cabins, saloon, aft deck, flybridge, garage and crew quarters.

Ask for a current general arrangement rather than a generic class description. Check where the main dining table sits, whether everyone has shade, how luggage is stored, which areas are noisy underway and whether the intended marina can accept the registered dimensions. REQUEST VIP needs before recommending a specific size.

Guest Capacity

The proposal must distinguish certified passengers underway, overnight berths and any reception limit alongside. Children, nannies, protection staff, entertainers and outside providers remain people aboard; their job title does not remove them from the applicable count. The owner, operator, captain, insurer and port may impose separate conditions.

Inspect real beds, cabin assignment, ensuite access, crew accommodation and dining capacity. For mobility, trace road-to-berth arrival, passerelle or tender, stairs, lift coverage if any, bathroom, swim platform and muster route. A large hull is not automatically accessible.

Amenities

Amenities should be a signed, dated inventory tied to the named yacht. Confirm stabilisers and their operating modes, air conditioning, connectivity, audiovisual equipment, gym or wellness spaces, laundry, tender, personal watercraft, boards, diving or fishing gear and child equipment. “On request” is not the same as onboard.

Every item needs condition, operating area, licence or age requirement, instructor if necessary and a weather limit. The captain may withhold a tender or toy for safety or maintenance. A separate catamaran charter may offer another water-access and deck-space compromise.

Charter Duration

Match duration to useful operating time. A day booking includes boarding, briefing, harbour movements and contractual return. A multi-night charter adds cabins, crew duty, provisions, laundry, fuel planning and several port decisions. For 7-night planning, the weekly yacht charter guide details delivery, redelivery and expense controls.

The agreement should state exact hours and ports, owner or contracting entity, cruising area, guest limits, crew, fee, fuel method, tax, expenses, payment, cancellation and weather treatment. Do not infer a weekly discount or minimum period. .

Embarkation and complete cost comparison

Close the manifest, identification, cabin plan, dietary information, luggage, mobility needs and arrival time by the operator's deadline. The boarding sheet names the final marina, gate, berth or tender point, yacht contact and baggage route. Port changes should trigger one update to every transfer and shoreside supplier.

Compare the whole exposure: base fee, tax, fuel, delivery and redelivery, ports, provisions, drinks, communications, laundry, tender fuel, ground transport, deposit and cancellation. REQUEST VIP does not publish a rate until the commercial chain and inclusions are documented.

How It Works

  1. Send destination, dates, day or overnight use, guests, cabins, distance, amenities and budget structure.
  2. Receive with named listings, current layouts and comparable operating assumptions.
  3. Review commercial status, propulsion, range, capacity, agreement, expenses, route and weather alternatives.
  4. Confirm contract and funds, then finalise manifest, provisioning, transfers and the captain-approved passage plan.

FAQ

What is the advantage of a motor yacht charter?

It can suit powered coastal movement, varied layouts and climate-controlled living. The benefit depends on the named hull, engines, route and guest priorities.

How far can a motor yacht travel?

There is no category-wide answer. Review the specific range basis, speed, load, fuel reserve, sea conditions and captain's passage plan.

How many guests can stay overnight?

The yacht's certificates and agreement set the limit and approved berths. A large social area or spare sofa does not create legal sleeping capacity.

Is fuel included in the rate?

Only the written quote controls. Fuel may be included, capped, charged by use or funded through an expense account, with delivery fuel treated separately.

Are all listed amenities guaranteed?

No. Use the current signed inventory, then check condition, location, licences and captain approval for each item.

Can we choose any route?

Guests set priorities, but the captain approves safe operation. Weather, range, ports, authority rules or technical status can require a different plan.
