A Princess yacht shortlist should connect model class to a specific cruising and ownership plan. REQUEST VIP can coordinate a confidential brief, compare authorised listings and bring together independent survey, legal and closing specialists. Current supply, asking prices, seller authority and buyer-representation terms need confirmation before any yacht is described as available.
Key Facts
- Princess' September 2026 site organises its current motor yachts into X, Y, F, S, V and C classes.
- Pre-owned Princess yachts may belong to earlier classes or have layouts and machinery unlike the current range.
- Hull identity, build documents, maintenance history and physical inspection take priority over catalogue assumptions.
Princess Models, Classes and Buyer Priorities
Princess began building in Plymouth in 1965. Its official range reviewed in September 2026 spans X95 Vista, X90 and X80; Y95, Y80 and Y72; F65 through F45; sportier S and V families; and C48 variants. Models can change, so this is search context rather than sale inventory.
Class names identify broad preferences: the volume of X or Y, flybridge focus of F, sportbridge character of S, or open profile of V and C. A used yacht's engines, cabins, crew provision, tender and options must come from its documents. Earlier references should not be judged by a nearby current model number.
Define guest count, owner operation, crew, passage length, weather, berth, draught and storage. Walk through sleeping, service, tender launch, navigation and night watches to test circulation, privacy and safe operation.
Brokerage, Acquisition and Off-Market Opportunities
Build one data sheet for every candidate: registered name, HIN or CIN, exact class and model, build and model year, dimensions, hull material, engine and generator serials, supported hours, flag, class or coding, tax or import evidence, location, asking price and verification date. Obtain the original specification, option list, manuals, certificates and invoices for material refits. Confirm that all photographs and inventory belong to the offered hull.
The brokerage chain should be transparent. Ask who has the seller's authority, who acts for the buyer, which entity handles the deposit and who receives commission. Any dual role or referral payment should be disclosed. A confidential opportunity is shareable only with permission and buyer qualification; it is not a standing promise of off-market access.
Prospective owners can use the Princess yacht charter overview to refine preferences, then return to the yachts for sale framework for acquisition checks. Questions about service staffing can be refined with the yacht crew planning page. A charter experience is informative but cannot confirm that the same model, layout or condition is available to buy.
Survey the Individual Hull
Appoint an independent surveyor and agree a scope proportionate to the yacht. It may cover haul-out, hull and deck, underwater fittings, windows and seals, machinery, fluid sampling, generators, shore power, batteries, steering, stabilisation, navigation, safety systems, plumbing, air conditioning, appliances and inventory. Engines may merit attendance by a manufacturer-trained or otherwise qualified specialist.
Compare equipment to the build file. Review machinery history, cooling, stabilisers, electrical and navigation upgrades, deck work, glazing, paint and refits. Ask about grounding, water ingress, fire, major repair and claims where lawful. Cosmetic renewal should not hide deferred work.
The sea trial should reflect the intended use and normal loads. Observe starting, pressures, temperatures, steering, trim, stabilisation, vibration, noise, smoke, alarms and hotel systems while underway. The survey report identifies findings, but the sale agreement determines deadlines and whether the buyer may reject, renegotiate or accept them.
Contract, Tax, Flag and Handover
In the sale agreement, name the parties and hull precisely, then set the purchase price, protected deposit route, conditions, documentary deadlines, inspection rights, accepted inventory, delivery port and moment when ownership and risk pass. The buyer's maritime lawyer examines signing authority, the title chain and relevant registry for secured claims. Deposit percentages and remedies must be negotiated for this transaction.
VAT and import treatment depend on documentary history and the proposed ownership and use. An EU berth, European flag or broker statement is not conclusive. Residence, entity, place of supply or delivery, prior movements and private or commercial activity may affect the result. The buyer needs transaction-specific maritime, tax and customs advice; REQUEST VIP is not the adviser.
Select a flag only after checking eligibility, cruising areas, private or commercial registration, finance, insurance, class or coding and manning. Reflagging may require deletion certificates, inspections, radio licences and technical changes. Before delivery, arrange insurance, berth, management, crew, communications, safety items and a costed first-works list.
