Ship size, landings and activity access
For Antarctica, the general visitor rules say vessels with more than 500 passengers do not make landings. A maximum of 100 visitors is normally permitted ashore at a site at once, with a 1:20 actively guiding staff ratio unless site guidance is stricter. A 200-guest vessel may therefore operate rotations rather than putting everyone ashore simultaneously.
