Buying a Pershing yacht means assessing performance as an operating system, not a brochure number. REQUEST VIP can coordinate a confidential search, compare authorised listings and organise independent review of machinery, title and transaction documents. No yacht, asking price, off-market access or representation arrangement is confirmed until its source and authority are checked.

Key Facts

  • Pershing's official September 2026 fleet separates X Generation, GTX Series and larger superyacht models.
  • Published speed and range depend on the specified engines, propulsion, loading and test conditions of a model.
  • Machinery history, cooling, drives or waterjets and control systems need model-appropriate inspection.

X Generation, GTX and Earlier Pershing Models

The builder's fleet page reviewed in September 2026 lists X Generation models 5X through 9X and GTX70, GTX80, GTX90 and GTX116. GTX places more emphasis on usable deck area and contact with the water, while X Generation follows the fast sports-yacht format.

These labels only start a used-yacht comparison. The published GTX70 is about 21.76 metres and the GTX116 about 35.33 metres, with different propulsion and crewing needs. Earlier Pershing models may share little beyond brand character. Confirm designation, year, hull number, engines, propulsion, options and modifications.

The buyer's brief should state the realistic cruising speed, distance between planned fuel stops, number of guests, crew model, berth limits and balance between enclosed accommodation and exterior space. High maximum speed can increase attention to fuel use, machinery loading, cooling, trim and maintenance. It should not be treated as a promise of normal passage time or operating cost.

Brokerage, Acquisition and Off-Market Opportunities

For each candidate, record legal name, HIN or CIN, exact model, build and model year, length, beam, draught, engines, serial numbers, propulsion configuration, documented hours, generators, stabilisation, flag, class or coding, location, tax evidence, asking price and last verification. Request the original specification, manuals, service history and invoices for significant works. A dashboard hour reading or recent paint does not establish mechanical condition.

Ask who controls the listing and who would act for the buyer. Fees, commissions and possible dual representation should be disclosed before records are exchanged. Off-market opportunities require express authority and are not guaranteed.

A prospective owner may use the Pershing yacht charter page to test the practical trade-off between speed, deck use and accommodation. The sport-yacht charter guide adds practical questions about helm exposure and exterior use. Charter operation may involve different coding, crew and maintenance, so it cannot establish the suitability or availability of a yacht for purchase.

Machinery Survey and Sea Trial

Choose an independent surveyor familiar with high-performance composite motor yachts and arrange specialist support for engines and propulsion where appropriate. The agreed scope may include haul-out, hull and underwater gear, intakes, exhausts, cooling circuits, engines, gearboxes, surface drives or waterjets, steering, trim systems, stabilisers, generators, electrical distribution, navigation, fire protection and domestic systems. Fluid analysis can support the review but does not replace inspection or records.

Service evidence should explain hours, intervals, overhauls, updates, replaced components and alarms. Check modifications to machinery, drives, weight or controls and who installed them. Request damage, repair and insurance history when lawful. The surveyor should identify access limitations that may increase service cost.

An agreed sea trial needs a documented test plan. Observe cold start where possible, pressures, temperatures, smoke, vibration, steering response, trim, acceleration, noise, alarms and behaviour at several speeds and loads. Verify results against the exact machinery specification, not a different brochure. Any target speed or remedial work must be expressed in the contract if it is material to acceptance.

Offer, Ownership and Operating Structure

The memorandum of agreement controls the deposit, inspection period, survey and trial rights, acceptance or rejection, included inventory, delivery location and transfer of title and risk. The buyer's maritime lawyer should verify the contracting seller, corporate authority, registry record, mortgages and other encumbrances, plus the documents needed for deletion or registration. There is no universal deposit or closing period.

VAT and import status depend on evidence and the proposed transaction. Flag, current berth and an advertisement's tax statement are not conclusive. The buyer's residence, ownership vehicle, place of delivery, private or commercial use and cruising movements may all matter. Obtain maritime legal, tax and customs advice; REQUEST VIP does not give that advice.

Flag choice should be tested against eligibility, intended speed and operating area, private or commercial use, class or coding, insurance, finance and manning. Higher-performance operation may also affect insurer requirements and crew qualifications. Plan management, berth, fuel, service access, spares and immediate works before taking delivery.

REQUEST VIP has no corporate connection to Pershing Yachts or Ferretti Group and has not been appointed or endorsed by them. Brand references classify the requested search; they confer neither approval nor privileged access.

How It Works

  1. Define models or size, realistic speed, cruising area, guests, crew, timing and acquisition budget.
  2. Agree confidentiality and .
  3. Compare authorised candidates and their machinery records before travel or technical inspection.
  4. Use independent legal and technical advisers through offer, survey, sea trial, acceptance and closing.

FAQ

Which Pershing series is right for me?

X Generation prioritises a sports-yacht profile, while GTX places greater emphasis on connected deck space. The exact hull, cruising plan, berth, crew and maintenance budget decide the fit.

Can the advertised top speed be guaranteed?

No. Speed varies with machinery option, condition, load, fuel, sea state and test method. Any essential performance condition belongs in the contract and test plan.

Does REQUEST VIP have Pershing yachts off market?

. Confidential access is not guaranteed and should never be claimed without owner or authorised-broker approval.

What deserves special attention during survey?

In addition to hull and general systems, inspect engines, cooling, propulsion, steering, trim and controls with suitable specialists and review their complete service history.

Is a low engine-hour reading always positive?

No. Hours must be reconciled with age, maintenance, storage and records. Long inactivity can create different risks from intensive but well-documented use.

Can a Pershing be registered for charter?

Possibly, but registry eligibility, commercial coding, equipment, manning, tax, insurance and local charter rules require case-specific professional review.
