REQUEST VIP coordinates superyacht charter enquiries for private cruising, celebrations and multi-residence itineraries. Provide dates, embarkation region, guest and cabin counts, intended use, mobility needs and budget structure; the concierge will seek named commercially certified yachts and comparable agreements. Fleet access, rates, equipment, berths and itinerary feasibility remain unconfirmed until documented for the request.
Key Facts
- “Superyacht” has no single worldwide legal definition; certificates and flag rules matter more than the label.
- Cruising guests, overnight guests and dockside visitors can have different approved limits.
- Base fee should be compared with tax, APA or other expenses, delivery, berths and cancellation exposure.
- The captain controls navigation, safety, tender operations and use of equipment.
Luxury Superyacht Rental
Start with the trip, not a length target. A family may need connecting cabins and simple water access; an executive group may require workspaces and controlled visitor procedures; a celebration adds sound, port and insurer permissions. Translate the brief into measurable requirements before comparing photographs.
Request the general arrangement, current media, flag, commercial certificate, refit record, dimensions, cruising area, guest limits, crew, stabilisation, tenders and accessibility. The UK Red Ensign Group Yacht Code Part A covers a defined group of commercial yachts 24 metres and over carrying no more than 12 passengers. It is a flag example, not a universal definition or evidence for an unverified yacht.
A motor yacht charter may answer a compact powered-cruising brief. A documented expedition yacht charter is the better comparison when remote range, special certification and landing operations are central. The main yacht charter page helps separate these use cases before a shortlist is requested.
Cabins, social areas and accessibility
Count usable beds, not cabin names. Confirm cabin locations, bed configuration, convertible berths, ensuite access, headroom, noise and spaces reserved for crew. Ask how many people can dine together and whether an event layout changes safety limits.
Map the full guest journey: road arrival, terminal, security, gangway or tender, lift coverage, deck thresholds, stairs, bathroom, swim platform and muster station. A lift may not reach every deck and is not proof that tender boarding works. The operator and qualified access adviser should review the named guest's needs; REQUEST VIP coordinates information but does not certify accessibility.
The signed guest limit controls. Additional nannies, protection officers, entertainers, wellness practitioners, photographers and day visitors must be disclosed early and approved by the owner, captain, insurer and relevant port. They do not sit outside capacity because they are “staff.”
Crew, provisioning and onboard routine
Review captain, deck, engineering, interior, chef and specialist roles. Ask who handles preferences, allergies, children, laundry, cabin service, equipment and shore bookings. REQUEST VIP cannot promise a language, qualification or staffing ratio without the named yacht's confirmation.
Provisioning needs a deadline, approval method and expense basis. Specify beverages, menus, allergies, celebrations, flowers and ethically or legally sensitive items. Local import, customs and biosecurity rules can prevent a requested product from reaching the yacht. A preference is a request until the captain, chef and supplier confirm it.
Agreement, APA and total exposure
The contract should identify the yacht, contracting entity, stakeholder, period, delivery and redelivery, cruising area, guest limits, crew, fee, payment, expenses, deposit, cancellation and special conditions. If a MYBA form is used, obtain the authorised current document; historical samples are not a substitute.
MYBA's official guidance says the captain is accountable for APA disbursement, should keep the charterer informed and should produce an account with receipts at the end. APA is therefore a controlled fund for defined variable costs, not automatically the final supplement. Fuel, food, drinks, port charges, communications, laundry, delivery, redelivery, tax and third-party services may affect total exposure.
For EU short-term hire, official VAT guidance points to where the vessel is actually placed at the customer's disposal, while other facts and national implementation remain relevant. . REQUEST VIP is an independent concierge and is not presented as the owner, central agent, tax adviser or stakeholder unless written evidence says otherwise.
Route, berths and weather alternatives
Convert the wish list into a captain-reviewable plan with delivery port, redelivery port, essential calls, optional anchorages, range assumptions and fallback days. Draught, length, beam, port allocation, customs, protected zones, traffic and forecast conditions can alter it. A charter agreement cannot compel unsafe navigation or a berth controlled by an authority.
Each shoreside component has separate status. A restaurant table, event ticket, beach-club booking or villa does not secure a tender landing, and a berth does not grant event access. For a sailing-led rhythm, compare a private sailing yacht. Keep one decision log so changed port times reach the crew, driver and venue.
Tenders, toys and controlled activities
Obtain the current inventory for tenders, personal watercraft, diving, e-foils, fishing, inflatables, submersibles or aviation. Record launch method, operating zone, age, licence, instructor, insurance and weather conditions. The captain may withdraw any item after embarkation for maintenance or safety; no brochure can override that decision.
Accessibility applies here too. Tender freeboard, swell, ladder design and shore surface can decide whether an activity is practical. Build a deck-based alternative rather than making participation depend on an uncertain transfer.
Embarkation file and connecting legs
Before travel, reconcile the yacht, berth or tender point, contacts, manifest, documents, luggage, cabins, preferences and emergency numbers. Confirm cleared funds and who may issue instructions. Limit sensitive data to those who need it.
A separately contracted private jet can support a difficult embarkation, but aircraft slots and yacht movement are independent. Allow disruption margin and align change conditions instead of promising a seamless connection.
How It Works
- Send dates, region, guests, cabins, intended use, equipment, access needs and budget framework.
- Receive with named yachts, listing evidence and like-for-like expense summaries.
- Review certificates, owner chain, agreement, tax, APA, capacity, route alternatives and cancellation with appropriate advisers.
- Confirm funds, then close the manifest, preferences, berth logic, transfers and captain-approved plan.
