REQUEST VIP coordinates superyacht charter enquiries from 35 to 50 metres where multi-deck living, a larger crew and tender-based access can reshape the trip. Provide dates, region, guest and cabin plan, service programme, ports and budget structure. Named commercial yachts, documents, availability, capacity, amenities and total expenses must be confirmed in writing.

Key Facts

  • The 35–50m range is a search filter, not a uniform statutory class.
  • Gross tonnage, hull form and deck plan can explain useful volume better than length alone.
  • Guest, crew and shoreside logistics should be designed as one operating plan.
  • Berthing, anchoring, tender runs and provisioning require date-specific confirmation.

Volume changes the workflow

Between 35m and 50m, many yachts add distinct guest decks, crew circulation, larger galleys, stores, technical zones and one or more tenders. None is guaranteed by length. A fast aluminium design below 500 GT can allocate space very differently from a steel displacement yacht of similar length and greater volume.

Gross tonnage describes enclosed volume rather than weight, so it can reveal an operational difference hidden by two close length figures. Examine tonnage with beam, draught, deck count, crew complement, tender garage and service routes. Classification is another separate field. Lloyd's Register describes class as verification against its technical rules; flag certification, class and commercial permission are related but not interchangeable.

Use the yacht charter hub for the common enquiry framework. Compare 20–35m yachts for easier compact-port planning, or 50m-plus superyachts when substantially larger volume and operating departments are relevant.

Guest Capacity

Length does not authorise a passenger count. Ask for the maximum permitted underway, the approved overnight number, crew count and any dockside reception policy. Under the MCA's stated REG Yacht Code Part A scope, certain commercial yachts of at least 24m carry no more than 12 passengers; that is one flag framework and cannot be applied blindly to another yacht.

Create a manifest early enough to resolve children, nannies, protection personnel, artists, photographers or instructors. An outside provider remains a person aboard. The captain, operator and applicable authorities may reduce plans for route, weather or safety. If more than 12 passengers are contemplated, the proposal needs explicit evidence of the appropriate passenger-yacht regime rather than an assumption based on deck area.

Cabins

Review the current plan deck by deck. Record actual beds, convertible arrangements, bathrooms, wardrobes, headroom, lift coverage, stair geometry, noise, emergency routes and proximity to the owner's suite or machinery. Determine which cabin is accessible without negotiating exposed decks or several flights of stairs.

A multi-deck yacht can improve privacy only when service circulation works. Trace food from galley to dining, laundry to cabins and luggage from passerelle or tender to storage. Check crew accommodation separately; a full guest programme should not depend on reducing required crew spaces. For the broader type decision, the superyacht charter guide covers contract, crew and expense controls beyond the length filter.

Example Yachts

Official builder pages demonstrate variation but do not form a charter list. Heesen publishes Alive at 42.40m overall and approximately 450 GT, with five described guest suites. The same shipyard lists Asya at 46.70m and approximately 499 GT, also with five guest suites but a different beam, draught and platform. Facts were reviewed on 2 September 2026.

These examples do not prove current charter status, commercial certification, availability or access through REQUEST VIP. For a live option, record yacht identity, build and refit dates, registered dimensions and tonnage, flag, class, commercial certificate, day and night limits, crew, cabins, propulsion, range basis, stabilisers, tenders and current photographs. .

Destinations

The itinerary should name primary ports, anchorages, tender landing points and a weather refuge. A 40m yacht may fit one marina but be excluded from another by beam, draught, berth equipment, local commercial rules or lack of space. Near 50m, positioning and berth reservations can become a major part of the plan, especially around events.

At anchor, quantify transfer distance, sea exposure, night lighting, wet boarding and luggage handling. The main yacht's availability does not secure a tender landing. Check customs, protected areas, pilotage where applicable, waste, shore power, bunkering and agent responsibility. A megayacht enquiry is the relevant next comparison when scale begins to dominate the destination plan.

Indicative Rates

No rate follows automatically from a 35–50m label. Commercial exposure depends on yacht, season, date, location, base period, tax, fuel, delivery, ports, provisions, beverages, communications, tender fuel, specialists, ground movements, deposit and cancellation. Larger stores and crew do not reveal what the base fee includes.

Compare proposals through one schedule. It should show charter fee, tax status, expense advance or other mechanism, fuel assumptions, delivery and redelivery, port handling, guest supplies, crew-related treatment, activity costs, communications, reconciliation and unused balance. .

Port, tender and service file

The operating file links signed agreement, certificates supplied for review, manifest, cabin plan, arrival sheet, provisions, tender movements, shore reservations and disruption contacts. When the primary port changes, aviation, drivers, agent, provisioning team and yacht need the same update. Do not distribute passport or medical details beyond the responsible parties that require them.

The captain controls the safe passage, anchorage and launch of tenders. REQUEST VIP can coordinate requests and communications, but cannot replace the contracting operator, master, flag administration, class society, insurer or coastal authority.

How It Works

  1. Set dates, region, complete party, cabin matrix, service programme, port priorities and budget structure.
  2. Receive with named 35–50m yachts, current plans and comparable financial assumptions.
  3. Check certificates, tonnage, capacity, crew, tenders, ports, itinerary, inventory, costs and contract as one file.
  4. Approve the written offer, then close funds, manifest, provisions, shore movements and the captain's passage plan.

FAQ

How many guests can stay on a 35–50m superyacht?

Use the named yacht's certification and approved berths. Many marketing examples mention 12, but length and deck volume do not create permission for that number.

Why does gross tonnage matter?

Gross tonnage describes enclosed volume, not the yacht's weight. Alongside dimensions and layout, it helps explain why two similar-length yachts support different interior and service plans.

Are Heesen Alive or Asya available through REQUEST VIP?

They appear only as official shipyard specification examples. A valid charter proposal requires separate confirmation of the exact yacht, operator, commercial status, dates and terms.

Will a 45m yacht get a berth in every destination?

No. Length, beam, draught, equipment, local rules, current availability and weather affect the choice. The agreed plan should retain anchorage and alternative-port options.

What is included in the charter price?

Only the signed offer controls. Ask it to separate fee, tax, fuel, delivery, ports, provisions, drinks, tenders, activities, communications, deposit and cancellation.

Can we host a large event onboard?

Disclose the occasion and every attendee before contracting. Dockside attendance needs approval from the owner, operator, captain, insurer and port and may be lower than the visible social capacity.
